Josh recently completed his 12th season of playing professional baseball. He reached the major leagues with the Cincinnati Reds in May of 2019 and hit .238 with 8 home runs his rookie year. He subsequently played another three MLB seasons with the Reds, Arizona Diamondbacks and Pittsburgh Pirates.
Josh was drafted by the San Diego Padres out of Norwell High School in 2013 and went on to play 8 minor league seasons with their organization, as well as the Reds, Diamondbacks, Milwaukee Brewers and New York Yankees. His first stop in professional baseball was spent playing for his hometown team, the Fort Wayne TinCaps, something that very few players ever get to do.
At Norwell, Josh was an All-State baseball player for 3 seasons and holds numerous offensive and pitching records. He lead the Knights to the 2013 State Championship. He also received significant recognition in basketball, leading the Knights to the 2012 State Finals.
Along the way Josh has given back to the community in a number of ways. He has taught in the off-seasons via camps and individual instruction at a number of venues, including the Indiana State High School Baseball Coaches Association. He has also helped to raise funds for a number of youth programs in Northeast Indiana.
